Back to Blonde Process

Happy Friday!!!  Fall is traditionally the season for changing hair color and going “darker” for many.  I love the idea of changing it up, and want to do a quick post on the process of what it looks like.  The most important thing to remember is that it is in fact, a process!!!  For example: remember when actress, Emma Stone, went from her rich red shade to a platinum blonde?  I read in my salon professional magazine it was a 2 week process of 6 separate color appointments to get it done safely and effectively.  I always warn gals that desire changing from blonde to brunette, that it could take 3-4 or more highlights to get them back where they were.  And that there is potential for chemical damage that would entail some nice cuts/trims along the way :)  BUT I love changing things up for my clients and the process can be quite stunning.. here is an example!

Cheryl first came to see me a light blonde.. very adventurous and full of excitement, she told me she was ready to try out a rich brown for a season!  I didn’t question her confidence in her decision for a second so we hit the ground running!

After pic..

After wearing the brunette look for a couple months, Cheryl was ready to start the process back.  She knew it would take a few times and was excited about the transitional colors along the way.  We started with a semi-heavy highlight that we toned to a really nice caramel shade.

I love the beige caramel tones with her skin and eyes.  At her next appointment, we will be able to get more dimension with some lighter blonde!  Unless she decides she likes this so much and stays here for awhile.. Options ;)
