Day 19/21: Mini Fishtail Braid

Now that I’m nearing the end of my fun journey, I realize how much I love wearing my hair down!  So I had to get a little creative on how to add a little something extra ;)  I just added a little fishtail braid underneath for a creative twist to wearing my hair down and wavy.

Day 18/21: Loose Waves Tutorial

Today I was ambitious and attempted my first tutorial video showing the ease of creating loose beachy waves!  Many of my clients have asked for ideas and tips!

I always start with a couple drops of Moroccan Oil on my dry hair before applying heat.

Best results with a 1” curling iron.

I like to finish with a medium hold hairspray like Davines Crystal Fixative.

Day 17/21: Bun Mohawk

Happy Halloween!!!  Since I chose to forgo dressing up in a costume today, I thought it would be fun to try out a funkier do’… enter the Bunhawk or Bun Mohawk.

I received inspiration and instructions for this do’ from a blog, Hair Romance, I found on Pinterest…Great blog, check her out!!!

Day 16/21: Side Fishtail

Today I have the privilege of styling hair for Maude Boutique’s photoshoot with some of the top bloggers in our area: Ashes of Laughter, Blonde Ambition, Smith and Emma, NWA Motherload, and Tulip Louise!!! I’ll post pics later :). I did manage to sneak my own style in there too..

Today I threw in some Moroccan Oil and loose waves to start. Then pinned back my long bangs with a bobby pin. From there, I took 2 large pieces of hair and fishtail braided then along the side. As always, I hid the elastic with my own hair and finished with my favorite hairspray, Davines No 7 Crystal Fixative Lacquer For Wizards.

Day 15/21: High Ponytail

Today was a very busy day in the salon so I kept it simple with a high ponytail! Just moisturized my ends with some Moroccan Oil and used a boar bristle brush to pull up. I wrapped a strand of hair around to hide the ponytail holder and secured it with a hair pin.

Day 12/21: bobbied bangs

Another easy way to pull bangs and long layers back! I like to tease the front and crown a little and gather the long layers and bangs loosely.. I pin them using 2 bobby pins cris-crossed over each other.

Day11/21: French braided bangs…

Braiding your bangs back is a great way to keep long layers out of your face.. Plus, it’s just cute! I added some waves to my hair using a 1” barrel curling iron, and did a little teasing at the crown to start. Leaving the natural part, I loosely braided my hair a little past my ear, secured with a small elastic, and wrapped hair around to hide. Then I tugged at the braid a little to loosen up a little more.

Day 9/21: Not Just a Top Knot…
Today I attempted to combine the top knot and boho braid! I pulled the front section of my hair in a pony on top of my head and secured with an elastic. Then, with my head flipped over, I reverse French braided up the back of my head to meet the high ponytail. I combined them and twisted it into a top knot! The upside down braiding was a little challenging, but I love the way the reverse braid gives texture.

day of blonde beauties

Today I had some very lovely blondes sit in my chair and just wanted to share some pics…

First I had Kirsten come in for some lighter blonding.  Who says winter is for going darker?

Then Page came in for some extensions to fill in the front hairline.  Hair sheds the fastest around our face so that is why some ladies have a harder time growing their hair longer around the face.  We placed 30 extensions for fullness and length in front.

Lastly, Caroline came in wanting to richen her blonde with an ombre shade and I am so happy she did!  Its absolutely beautiful on her.
