Precious Madison came in today for a new back-to-school haircut and decided to donate her hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths! The cut looks great on her and she can still put it back for ballet. On her way to ombré! Talina came in last week with her natural locks wanting to start the ombre color process. This is the result after the 1st highlight and we will have her all the way there next time.. Ombré hair color is anywhere from a 2-4 color process depending on if your hair is natural or has existing color. Its a very low-maintenance color after you get to the desired contrast!

I am very excited to be a part of this special event this Thursday! Join us at Maude Boutique from 6-8pm! Christina and I will be there teaching some spring styles while ladies shop and enjoy some froyo from Orange Leaf, arm massages and chair massages from Revive Day Spa.. All for a world changing cause. Must come, ladies! Here is some info directly from Lauren Clark about her admirable mission: “My name is Lauren Clark, and I am a University of Arkansas School of Law Student working part time at Maude Boutique! I am currently in the process of raising money to go on a mission trip to Cambodia the first half of this summer in an effort to dig water wells to bring clean water access to the villagers and simultaneously educate them on the maintenance of the wells and the importance of proper hygiene and sanitary drinking water. I NEED YOUR HELP in meeting my fundraising goal, and I still have a LONG way to go! Maude Boutique has so graciously offered to hold a charity fundraising event at the store THIS THURSDAY APRIL 12 from 6:00-8:00pm where they will be donating 20% of all sales made during the event! Please come by and doing some shopping and get pampered as a treat for stopping by!”

Talk about commitment! Kirsten (entrepreneur extraordinaire AKA Riffraff) is flying to Ecuador this weekend to visit her brave, awesome man serving in the Peace Corps! As a safety measure, he warned her blonde hair would cause a lot of attention to the natives who’ve never seen a gorgeous blonde.. So, what’s a girl to do? Go darker! I must admit I was apprehensive at first bc we had gotten her to a lovely shade of blonde, but I can’t tell you how happy I am we did it and how fabulous it looks on her!! I went with Wella’s Color Touch for a semipermanent finish that will fade on tone in the event she misses her blonde locks. We both have a feeling she will stay this flattering “bronde” shade for awhile ;). Safe travels, Kirsten!!!

New product available at Studio 8!!! Davines Melu Thermal Protecting Shield has been studied to protect the structure of the hair from damage caused by excessive heat, guaranteeing an antistatic effect.  The formula has an antioxidant action, protecting the structure of the hair form high temperatures up to 450F.  It also contains Rosemary Extract to help brighten hair color.  Spray on hair wet or dry before using the hair dryer or smoothing iron.

The uncharacteristically warm weather has everyone coming in the salon to lighten up!  Lacy came in today wanting to start the transition from a dark ombre back to her customary blonde shade.  She was very realistic on the lightening process knowing her first highlight would not get her all the way blonde, but take her to a lighter ombre.  I really love the results we got today!  Pro tip: highlighting can be harsh on your locks.. invest in a heat protectant spray (Bumble & Bumble Tonic or Davines Melu Shield), moisturizing conditioner (Bumble & Bumble Super Rich or Davines Momo) and some nourishing oil (Moroccan Oil).  All available at Studio 8.
