Rich chocolate ombré color

Mini makeover on beauty, Jeni, today.. Added long layers and dark blonde for added dimension to her one-length light blonde locks. Love the results.

Some call it “Oxblood”… some call it “Wine”…. I call this red daring, adventurous and right on trend for Fall 2012.  The deep violet based red hue is being seen everywhere from head to toe on the runway and in the magazines, and now making its way to the salon!

Dark blonde ombré for Fall.

The best ombré hair color takes time. We have been doing ombre color on Heather for awhile now and I love the way the colors melt and blend in her hair. Be patient with your hair (the cuticle can only do so much in one appt), stylist and the color process :)

Got to do Jessica’s hair once more before going back to Japan! We wanted contrast, but to brighten it up. Keep blondes looking natural with gold pearl tones in level 7-8 in addition to pale highlights!

Talk about commitment! Kirsten (entrepreneur extraordinaire AKA Riffraff) is flying to Ecuador this weekend to visit her brave, awesome man serving in the Peace Corps! As a safety measure, he warned her blonde hair would cause a lot of attention to the natives who’ve never seen a gorgeous blonde.. So, what’s a girl to do? Go darker!

I must admit I was apprehensive at first bc we had gotten her to a lovely shade of blonde, but I can’t tell you how happy I am we did it and how fabulous it looks on her!! I went with Wella’s Color Touch for a semipermanent finish that will fade on tone in the event she misses her blonde locks. We both have a feeling she will stay this flattering “bronde” shade for awhile ;). Safe travels, Kirsten!!!

The uncharacteristically warm weather has everyone coming in the salon to lighten up!  Lacy came in today wanting to start the transition from a dark ombre back to her customary blonde shade.  She was very realistic on the lightening process knowing her first highlight would not get her all the way blonde, but take her to a lighter ombre.  I really love the results we got today! 

Pro tip: highlighting can be harsh on your locks.. invest in a heat protectant spray (Bumble & Bumble Tonic or Davines Melu Shield), moisturizing conditioner (Bumble & Bumble Super Rich or Davines Momo) and some nourishing oil (Moroccan Oil).  All available at Studio 8.

This golden blonde color on my sister, Taylor is gorgeous with her skin tone and hazel eyes. We are in the process of taking her from a platinum blonde to golden.. This is her 2nd color service and I love the way the colors are blending naturally.

Pro tip to prevent fading: wait 72 hours after color service to shampoo and always use professional, color safe products!
